Each year we hold a party in church for Praise & Play Children and all our younger church members including the families of children recently baptised.
There was food and drink, various games, and a surprise visit from Three Wise Men who came bearing gifts for the children.
A good time was had by all!
Sunday afternoon at St Oswald’s. You didn’t need to go down to the woods. And it was no surprise that everybody enjoyed themselves!
Thank you to all who supported this event!
We raised just over £1,000
Entry by TICKET ONLY – tickets must be purchased IN ADVANCE

“Shine as lights in the world!” Another amazing Light Party here at St Oswald’s to celebrate All Hallows’ Eve! Thanks to Bev and the whole team who helped to make this such a fun event for all 46 children, the youngest of whom was just two weeks old! “Many hands make light work!”
The Garden Party was a great success and raised nearly £900! Thank you to all who supported the event.
There was a celebratory cake shared after the 10.30 service this morning! Choir member Jean (seated) celebrated 50 years of living in Bollington. Also in the picture is expert cake-maker Ann.
The cake went down well with our usual post-morning service choice of tea, coffee or sherry!
In the Christian calendar, 1 November is the feast of All Saints. An old name for the festival is All Hallows. Just as the day before Christmas Day is called Christmas Eve, so the day before All Saints Day used to be known as Hallows Eve, or Halloween.
Although All Saints’ Day is a particularly Christian Festival, Halloween has become associated with particularly non-Christian celebrations of witches and the like.
This year we have organised activities to teach our young people the reasons to celebrate the Saints. We will be holding a “Light Parties” for children up to age 11.
We will celebrate “The Light of Christ” and “The Saints in Light”.
No Tricks, Just Treats!
Entry will be by Ticket Only – obtainable in advance at Praise & Play or RICH group meetings.
