Gift Aid

if you are a taxpayer, you can make your donation much more valuable by completing a Gift Aid form. Donating through Gift Aid means charities (and community amateur sports clubs) can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give. It won’t cost you any extra.

A message from the Archdeacon of Macclesfield

The Venerable Ian Bishop, Archdeacon of Macclesfield, came to St Oswald's to preach on 7 June 2015. Here are a few extracts from his sermon:

If the writer of Genesis was telling us anything about the creation that God had put together is that it was pretty good! Abundant, peaceful and beautiful. God had made a place for men and women that was all they needed.
Jesus said "You cannot serve both God and money"...we find ourselves driven to acquire what we haven't got... we're too focused on the baubles of earth. The apple that we're not supposed to take.
The people of faith in this country give to charity... look after some of the most amazing buildings in this country at no cost to the nation, employ thousands of people who care for the poor and the weak... But we still make bad decisions about what to do with our money and our time and our energy. ...I see the giving figures across the Diocese and I'm astonished how little people do give.  So many people give less than £5 a week...
