The Bollington Parish Roll of Honour

The Bollington Parish Roll of Honour is dated 1 May 1917. It contains a list of names of soldiers who had enlisted and a much shorter list of men known to have died. The main list is grouped into names beginning with the same initial, but the names are not listed alphabetically within each group. Presumably the names were provided by family members. Some names seem to have been repeated erroneously, although there were a number of cases of several Bollington soldiers having the same name. Many men would have enlisted after the Roll of Honour was published. The list of the men who had died includes some who died within the last two weeks of April 1917, but on the other hand there are a number of men whose death had presumably not been reported when the Roll was prepared.
