Many of our church activities have been suspended during the COVID-19 Emergency. Even though we are planning to re-open the Church building soon, we will not initially be able to resume all the activities in the way we used to.
We will try to keep this page updated every time that the situation changes, so please keep checking back (and bear with us if the details are not complete yet).

Church Services (Sundays)
We expect that for the time being there will only be one service in Church on Sunday mornings (to avoid the need to thoroughly clean the Church between two separate services). The service will be at 10.30am and will be a service of Holy Communion. At this stage we are not sure what music/singing may be included. Unfortunately it will not be possible to serve refreshments afterwards. It will be necessary to register in advance each week if you wish to attend our Sunday Service in order to ensure that we can accommodate as many as possible of the people who want to worship on any given Sunday and to arrange seating to suit individuals and family groups.
Children will be welcome to attend any of these services, but will have to stay with their family group. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no communal group activities or play area, but toys and activities will be separately available for use by each family group.
More details will be posted nearer the time.
The Family Worship Service format that we used to have in Church on the first Sunday of each month unfortunately cannot happen until further notice. But you are welcome to continue enjoying the short online Family Worship service posted on our website and Facebook page on the first Sunday of the month.
Baptisms and Marriages
We will follow the current Church of England guidelines (which may change as and when the pandemic situation changes). In view of the restrictions on how these ceremonies can be performed, and the uncertainties regarding potential future lockdowns, families and couples may wish to delay these events for the time being. If you would like to discuss arrangements for Baptism or Marriage at St Oswald’s, please use the contact form at the bottom of this page. The Vicar is very happy to chat with you about your plans!
Praise and Play
As we are unable to meet in person in the church this term, we will instead be streamlining online videos for you to watch with your child. This will include a story, craft activity and song time for you to join in with.
To find us go to the St Oswald Bollington page on Facebook and join the Praise & Play Autumn Term 2020 Group.

Beverley is delighted to announce that current guidance from the C of E and Dept for Education means that we will be able to re-open our RiCH after school group again next month.
There will obviously be restrictions on numbers attending and the activities that we can run, but we will be able to provide hospitality and support, once again, for year 7 & 8 children in St Oswald’s. This will hopefully include the 5 children from our regular congregation who started High School this month.
The group will re-start on the first Thursday following half term week, 5th November, from 3pm to 5pm. Children will be required to follow the same handwashing and social distancing rules that they do at school. Refreshments will still be provided but will be of the pre-packed variety. Games and activities will need to be limited but we will still provide a craft activity, prayer space and a place to sit and chat to their friends.
Numbers will be limited to 10 children per session and they will be required to register prior to coming, using this registration form . Bev and the RiCH Team look forward to welcoming you.
