9th July 2018
Stop, Look and Listen Day, Encountering God  – Led by the Revd John Kirkland

We shall be looking at several encounters with God in scripture, noting that they occurred at God’s initiative, but seeking to discover anything that we can do to be receptive to these kinds of encounters for ourselves. We shall look at Isaiah who encountered the holiness of God; Elijah who encountered God in discouragement; Job who encountered God in suffering. What do we learn about God from those encounters and how do they encourage us to seek God for ourselves?

These mini retreats are a chance to step back from your busyness, and listen to what God is saying to you. Each day starts with coffee at 9.30am and ends with tea at 3.30pm. £22 per person- includes lunch and refreshments.

Ministry at Work –  with Mo Trudell.

As Autumn sets in and we begin to think about winter we will use Rowan Williams book ‘Being Disciples’ to review and refresh our faith together. This day will be a mix of studying core truths as set out by Rowan, walking and listening to God in nature and taking away a faith uplift to help “be” the Christian presence at work. It will be useful for delegates to bring the Rowan Williams book Being Disciples, the essentials of the Christian life.
